Behind The Scenes: 1000 & 1010 Daybreak

Happy Monday everyone, hope everyone is having a fantastic start to the New Year! Back at the office, we are chugging along with several new construction and remodel projects. This week, we are sharing a behind-the-scenes look at 1000 and 1010 Daybreak Dr.

Although these two homes were actually built right next to each other, they couldn’t be more different in style and vibe. We will be sharing our design inspiration for both properties as well as a sourcing list!

1000 DAYBREAK DESIGN STYLE

1000 Daybreak definitely has more of a modern design concept. We added some black accents such as the mudroom wall, black shelves in the living room, and we carried the black all the way to the master bath with some high-gloss black shower tile. The kitchen pendants and entryway light fixtures are both two really beautiful modern pieces and we love the juxtaposition of white fixtures with the warmth coming from the Meadowblu woven dining room chandelier. We also added a modern black railing to the main level, which plays into the overall modern feel of the home a bit more.

We brought in black as our accent color, with a natural, clean color palette for the rest of the home. Neutral tones elevate the space and help it feel airy and open.

1010 definitely has more of a cottage, beachy vibe. As soon as you walk into the living room, you are greeted by these big windows that let tons of natural light in. The living room built-ins are painted in a light grayish/blue SW Misty 6232, and it just feels so light and peaceful. We did painted wood for the kitchen island and kept the rest of the kitchen design pretty simple. We wanted the warmth from the wood to really shine through.

Before and After: 2413 Boston Ave

Welcome back to part two of our 2413 Boston Ave before and after project! Last week we did part one where we took a deep-dive into the kitchen and living room remodel. Today we’ll look into the amazing transformation of the rest of the house.

Who doesn’t live for a good before and after? Seeing a space come to life is so exciting, and one of the best parts of what we do. The master bathroom in 2414 Boston Ave is almost unrecognizable now. It was hard to get a good shot of this bathroom during our initial walkthrough, it was so dark and cluttered! But I think this shot gives you an idea of what it was like.

We took out and replaced all the major bathroom fixtures and went with a fresh coat of white paint to make the bathroom a little bit bigger. Combined with the updated floors and gold accents, we have a space that feels totally open and airy!

When you walked into the bedrooms, they felt pretty dark and really outdated. This was a recurring theme for the rest of the house as well. Although we love pops of colors and taking design risks, the green carpet and walls were a major distraction from a space that deserved more.

The first thing we did was remove all the dark trim and doors from all the rooms, including the basement. We added new light fixtures, updated flooring to in the main level, and added carpet to lower. A coat of fresh white paint opens up each level and brings a sense of serenity.

Inside A Dreamy Living Room And Kitchen Makeover: 2413 Boston Ave

Happy Monday everyone! This week we have another fabulous Capitol City Investors remodel project ready to share with you all. We never get tired of "the reveal", that full-of-anticipation moment when we see after photos of one of our remodel projects for the very first time. What makes a reveal in our world of interior design particularly exciting is this: doing the initial walkthrough of a home and realizing a home’s potential and then seeing all those pinned inspiration pictures become reality .

One of those “ta-da” moments are homes like 2413 Boston Ave. We first toured this home back in August and we knew we had something great right away. By balancing classic and modern design elements, we were able to transform this house into a home fit for a new life. We would love to share the kitchen and living room before and afters, while sharing the rest of the home in a later post.

Let's start with the before: dark wood furniture, green carpet, and closed-off kitchen and dining area.

Our Design Inspiration:

Something light, airy, and open. Totally opposite of the dark wood kitchen cabinets and super tight- living spaces. Simple, yet full of light with a modern vibe.

The design process:

When it comes to breathing new life into more traditional houses, we love to evolve the space in modern direction while honoring the more classic architecture of the home. The first thing we did was open up the wall dividing the kitchen-dining nook area. We added a fresh coat of Sherwin-Williams Elder White paint, new cabinetry, swapped the old green carpet for oak laminate flooring, and added fresh-modern high gloss teal backsplash to amp up the brightness even further.

We are OBSESSED with this much needed home makeover. The simplicity of this design mixed with the unexpected touches of modern and bright elements is a breath of fresh air. We hope you enjoyed this before and after and we hope you’ll be back to tour the rest of this charming home!
